Enjoy your Holiday in Nerja
All the family

Take a leisurely tour of the town the old fashioned way in a horse and carriage.
The tour starts (and finishes) at the Balcón de Europa and lasts roughly thirty minutes. The cost is €30 per carriage, regardless of number of occupants.
A trip round town on the Tourist Train (or Wally Trolley as it is affectionately known). The journey starts and finishes in Plaza Cavana. Tickets, which cost €4, are for the round trip.
If you are on board with Spanish tourists then it is great fun because they tend to sing and clap all the way round!
How about a visit to the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary, located at the western end of town?
Not only donkeys and mules to pet, but also quite a few cats and dogs……and a couple of pot-bellied pigs. Great for the kids. Don’t forget to take a carrot!!!

And, of course, there are plenty of beaches to choose from, and several offer a variety of activities for the kids.

A trip to the fabulous Nerja Caves is a definite ‘must’.
Dining
Eating out is no problem, children are most welcome practically everywhere and at all hours, and many bars provide board games and even toys for the youngsters. Kids menus are available in most places.
There are one or two places (British owned) which do not permit pushchairs or prams but overall, one would have to say that Nerja is actually a very family oriented place and exceptionally child-friendly.

El Pinarillo
El Pinarillo is a picnic and barbeque area in the heart of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park and a popular base for ramblers and walkers.
It is situated about 5kms inland from the Nerja Caves and to get there, just follow the track which starts to the left of the main entrance to the Nerja Caves.
Although the route up to El Pinarillo is an unmade road and a little rough in places, a 4×4 is not essential. Once at the picnic area, there is ample parking.
There are purpose-built barbeque areas and play areas for the kids.
Painting for Pleasure
What could be more relaxing? Wandering around Nerja, or even in the countryside, you will invariably come across someone, resident or visitor, dabbling with the old brush.
The scenery is ideal and the light is excellent, especially for watercolours.
Well-known local artist Jacqui holds regular weekly art classes for beginners and keen amateurs, resident or visiting, and also offers painting excursions to local picturesque spots.
There are a number of regular organised walks for those wishing to explore the area on foot. These include treks organised by the Nerja Walking Club, the Nerja Town Hall and the Frigiliana Town Hall.
